NEW TAX PAYMENT PLAN OPTION
The Compost Collection Pit will be closed for the season effective October 30, 2016. A reminder to place branches and leaves as high as possible on the existing pile. Lake weeds and garden waste are to be placed on the extisting weed pile off to the side. Thank you for your continued cooperation!
A reminder that weekly waste/compost pickup ends October 31, 2016. There will be no pickup November 7th, 2016. Biweekly waste-only pickup begins November 14th, 2016 and ends April 2017.
For years, the Summer Village of West Cove has had a dedicated volunteer group who have committed their time to the West Cove Community League. This group has also played a large part in recruiting volunteers, organizing and hosting West Cove Days. The group is always looking for new volunteers to run the Community League and to help out with the planning of the annual West Cove Days event.
Unauthorized Aquatic Vegetation Removal Is IllegalRemoving aquatic vegetation requires prior approval by the Government of Alberta, Department of Environment and Parks. Unauthorized removal could be subject to fines and penalties. Here’s what the law says:Under the Public Lands Act, it is prohibited to disturb the bed and shore of a water body without prior authorization.Under the Water Act, an approval is required for an activity which affects a water body such as aquatic vegetation removal.
If you drive your quad or snow mobile outside the summer village boundaries, please note that the County of Lac Ste Anne has recently passed a new bylaw with respect to off highway vehicles that you should be aware of.

New Home Buyer Protection ActThe New Home Buyer Protection Act (NHBPA) will come into force effective February 1, 2014 as part of the Government of Alberta's ongoing commitment to improving consumer protection, recourse options and builder accountability for new homes built in Alberta.
